- Introduction by JIT Coolidge
- Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led captivity captive
- Salvation to our God, which sitteth upon the Throne, and unto the Lamb
- Now is Christ risen from the Dead, and become the first-fruits of them that slept
- He rose again the third day
- If ye, then, be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above
- I am the Resurrection and the Life
- The Lord is risen indeed
- I know that ye seek Jesus which was crucified. He is not here, for He is risen
- Thou wilt not leave my sould in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption
- Who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord
- Sing ye to the Lord, for he hath triumphed gloriously
- He is risen, he is not here
- King of kings, and Lord of lords
- He will swallow up death in victory
- The Lord hath done great things for us, whereof we are glad
- Let us keep the feast, not with old leaven
- The day of Jesus Christ
- In Christ shall all be made alive
- Blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed
- Abide with us
- Through death he might destroy him that had the power of death
- Jesus met them, saying, All hail
- Lo, I am with you alway
- To him be glory both now and forever
- He appeared first to Mary Magdalene
- I am he that liveth and was dead
- Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up
- Peace be unto you
- Death is swallowed up in victory
- Our Saviour, Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and brought life and immortality to light through the Gospel
- If any man thirst, let him come unto me and drink
- He is risen from the dead
- I know that my Redeemer liveth
- Christ must needs have suffered, and risen again from the dead
- Why weepest thou? Whom seekest thou?
- I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice and your joy no man taketh from you
- Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name
- Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power
- In my Father's house are many mansions
- They found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre
- Lo, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters
- Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning
- He is not here, but is risen
- O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
- O clap your hands, all ye people, shout unto God with the voice of triumph
- The first-begotten of the dead
- It is Christ that died, yea, rather, that is risen again
- Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory
- The fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth
- To the only wise God, our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen
- Christ, being raised from the dead, dieth no more
- Why seek ye the living among the dead?
- Alleluja, for the Lord God Omnipotent reigneth
- Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord
- The flowers appear on the earth, the time of the singing of birds has come
- Very early in the morning, the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun
- Them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him
- This is the day which the Lord hath made. We will rejoice and be glad in it
- Your joy no man taketh from you
- Arise, shine, for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee
- When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory
- Let the people praise thee, O God, let all the people praise thee
Lockwood, Brooks & Co. Have nearly ready the volume of “Easter Hymns” selected by Miss J.E.C. Chapman, an accomplished lady of Boston, and introduced by a note from her uncle, Rev. Dr. J.I.T. Coolidge. The hymns are excellently chosen, and the volume will be brought out in tasteful style. It will commend itself to the favor of all Episcopalians, and to the devout in all denominations, to whom Easter is not a mere churchly date but a day of deep and glad significance. – The Publisher’s Weekly, March 18th, 1876.
